PASTOR CRAIG'S NOTES What a difference a month makes!! Thirty days ago we were still having hot days and this morning I went outside and needed to wear a coat. Things do sometime change in a hurry. God makes each day a new set of challenges for us to see and to respond to. Each day present differing events that cause us examine our place in the scheme of God*s will. We, as a Church, are separated out of the world to act in the world as an agent of God. We are called to respond to the many hurts, fears, joys, tears and love. We heal the hurt, calm the fears, rejoice in the joys, wipe away the tears and reach our arms out in love. How do we accomplish all this? We do so by our support of the financial means of the church. Alone, each one of us does not have enough to have much impact, plus we don*t have the resources to know about every need that exist. With combining of our funds and resources we have the ability to reach far beyond our own abilities. We can make a greater impact on our world. We in American have been given a great gift. Most of us have homes, beds, cars, food and all the basics for our survival. We don*t worry about from where our next meal will come or where we will be sleeping tonight. To be truthful, have you looked at the amount of food you throw away each month? The offering that we take each Sunday has direct affect on our ability to do the work of the church. If God has given you much, much is required. Author Ellen T Charry put it this way, *Since the needs of the poor seem bottomless, the generosity of the rich should be topless.* Praying for you as I hope that you are praying for me.
